Located on Chestnut in the Marina, amidst all those track-suited moms with Chanel sunglasses and Bugaboo strollers, lies Lucca Delicatessen. With its little green awning, inside are some great Italian finds (try going when they are making fresh ravioli — right now, pumpkin, meat, or cheese), fresh burrata, Italian cold cuts, and one of the most delicious frozen lasagnas that makes Stouffer’s so embarrassed, it hides under bed in the dark! They’ve been around for over 80 years, and their longevity lies in the high-quality, authentic goods they sell. They offer soups of the day, specials of the day, and put out a little sign when they are making fresh pasta. I mostly stop by for sandwiches, but if you have the time, peruse the small, packed space and check out what other goodies are in there.

My choice that day: the Italian combo on a soft roll.

plus amy, no one talks on their cell there! you don’t get service when you’re chatting on your cell!
love that! that must be how all those marina girls stay so thin. they’re always on their phones so no takes their orders.
Best potato salad evah!
I haven’t been there in eons. But now that you tell me they have fresh burrata, I might have to stop in regularly now! LOL
